Methodology: Lesson 4

- Objectives: To finalizate the sheet, to learn how to express feelings, to do the diary, to use the whiteboard, to learn about the webpage and to value healthy lifestyle. 

- Materials: paper, pencils, sheets, whiteboard and the webpage.

- Description:
In this session children are going to work with the following link: Human-biodigital

The teacher will open it in the "Staying healthy" section. And inside it the teacher will explain the Nutrition and Fitness Center and It's Time to Play with the white board. Children learn about food and fitness

It is important they understand that eating a healthy diet will help them to feel energized. Moreover kids and adults feel better about their bodies when they feel strong, and moving doing sport! 

 Next activity will last about 20 minutes and children have to performance different situations of the sheet with the goal of expressing themselves, their feelings and teaching them that it is not only important to care the body but also the mind. Taking away bad feelings, our daily health also improves.

Also, students will finish their diary along 10 minutes. After that the teacher will provide a sheet that students have to do to internalize the contents of the day.

In the finally 15 minutes, students will be divided in three differents groups. The teacher will ask the following question: What have we learnt? Pupils will write in a paper every idea they have. In the last 10 minutes they will write on the digital whiteboard them in order.



Methodology: Lesson 3

- Objectives: To use whiteboard and to know the circulatory system.

- Materials: El blog de Segundo, the video, the webpage and the heart image.

- Description:
Firstly, we will devote the first 5 minutes to review the elemental content of body systems (digestive and respiratory systems) learned in the previous sessions during 5 minutes.

Once we have retained them in our memory with the brainstom, we are going to start learning the contents of the third session. The central topic will be the CIRCULATORY SYSTEM.

We will use the followinf video to introduce this new topic:
It is a brief explanation (3-5 minutes) of this system function. Besides being audiovisual, it exposes our heart in motion.


The teacher is going to explain the colours of veins and arteries with the white board so that the relate each color with a different concept and they won't confuse them (15 minutes). After that, the teacher will do questions about the topic and the child who answer properly will imitates the teacher (colouring the heart).


In the following 5 minutes the teacher will explain children how to count their heartbeat and then, they will do it. After that, the teacher will show students that we are full or veins and arteries with the following webpage during 15 minutes: (click on the image)




We understand what are the veins, arteries and heart and we will check the learning by doing the following interactive activities (during 10 minutes) (click on the image)



Finally, pupils will write in the diary everything they have done along the last 5 minutes.

Methodology: Lesson 2


- Objectives: To know the parts of the Respiratory System and to use the whiteboard.

- Materials: The videos and the whiteboard

- Description: First of all we are going to review the last session knowledge about the Digestive System in an active way. Teacher will ask children several question they will answer out loud during 10  minutes.

After that, students will watch the next video along 15 minutes:



And now pupils will use the white board to do the following word soup during 10 minutes:





The teacher will have one artificial lung done and student will put it in practice. In two groups they will experience its fuction along 20 minutes. Students will differentiate each part of the Respiratory System.

In the last 5 minutes students will write the diary.

Methodology: Lesson 1


- Objectives: use active learning and  use the whiteboard

- Materials: Powerpoints Presentation, the digital Whiteboard, the video, sheets, paper, pencils and coloured pencils

- Description:
In this session we are going to work with the digestive system. First of fall, students will do a brainstorming about what do we have in the body and the children will write this idea in the whiteboard. 

This activity will spend about 10 minutes. After that, teachers will explain the parts of the body in an active learning way so that appeal pupils attention during 15 minutes and then we are going to watch the following video as an introduction. It will takes about 5 minutes.



In addition, teacher will teach the digestive system parts along 15 minutes and he/she will provide the following sheet to colour the several parts of the dygestive system  during 15 minutes.



Finally, students are going to write a diary everything the have done.

Competences

We are going to follow this competences:

- Lingüistic communication competence: the child is going to receive information from the teacher by several mean so that the student understand it.

Learn to learn: It should be oriented to favour the development of techniques to learn, organize memorize and recover information. Also, it is important the reflexion about what had children learnt.

Digital competence: This area includes the contents which carries us to the digital literacy and the knowledge to the development of digital competence. With the use of the digital whiteboard, it will be acquired.

- Initiative sense and enterprising spirit: Its contents are directly related with the personal initiative sense when learning how to take decisions from our own knowledge. The planification and paperwork of work projects, both individual and collective, will contribute to the development of this competence.

Contents

We are going to apply a Didactic Unit in which the respiratory system, circulatory system and digestive system are explained, in addition, healthy habits using the digital whiteboard.

Day 1

Hello everyone!
Today it was our first day to work a little bit with the interactive board! We had so much fun! You can see that on our photos :)

But we also, looked at the board more critically and we have thought about some advantages and disadvantages of it. Let's have a look!

ADVANTAGES

- It offers the possibility of conecting with internet.
- Using the whiteboard it is easy to keep the work of the class, and continue in other moment at the same point.
- There are special programs for using the whiteboard. These programs make easier teaching children.
- Working with this resource means working in an interactive way.
- It is possible to find all kind of resources needed.
- It suppose an extra motivation when working with children.
- There is no waste of paper, which also help to care the environment.

DISADVANTAGES

- Sometimes, as all technologies it struggles. If it occurs, we could not continue working on it and even, the work done could dissapear.
- Sometimes it is difficult to manage because it requires a  basic previous knowledge of how to use it.
- It sometimes works too slowly
- Working with the internet it exists the possibility of losing the conection which leads to interruptions of the class.
